Good Morning All,

I hope this is okay to post because I usually only see job listings.
Since June of this year, I have been actively applying for federal jobs, with the VA, Social Security and EEOC. I have over 20 years of social service experience and have done a variety of jobs.
Here are my questions.
For one position, I was referred to the hiring manager on August 31st, so in my understanding, this means that I could potentially get an interview.
I have yet to be called for one, but I do understand this takes time.

For a couple of other positions, I meet the eligibility qualifications for the jobs in question. However, the e-mails state that I was not referred to the hiring manager, because veterans take precedence over anyone else. Has anyone been called later on, despite this?

Thanks for reading this.

Claudia
