[Job-Discussions] Applying for Federal Employment

Yes, a lot of times veterans do take preference, but if there are no veterans, others are considered. It can take quite a while sometimes to get a callback to possibly get an interview especially if this is your first federal job. I can’t remember how long it took me to get an interview once I had applied, but I got my job offer in May 2015, and didn’t start until October. The federal employment system definitely runs slow. However it is worth it once you’re employed by the federal government. Ap Applying for subsequent jobs is often times easier after that.
