DEED is partnering with Right Track to provide internship opportunities this coming summer!
Right Track provides a diverse, talented, and qualified pool of candidates that are eager to develop their skills while gaining experience within state government.
This is a rewarding experience allowing you to get extra help while infusing new ideas, creativity, and energy into your division.
The interns receive skill development, networking opportunities, and practical work skills while your staff can have the opportunity to expand their own skills in leadership and mentoring.
Please review the internship opportunity below and submit requests by Friday, April 16.

Right Track- Student Workers ages: 16-21 years old - YJ2 Level
Hired as Student Worker, Clerical within the State classification system; Step 1, $15.25/hour
*          YJ2 level: Student workers who have previous work experience and are part of a career readiness program
*          Type of work: Project base, entry level, independent work
*          6-9 week paid summer internships June 21 - August 17
*          15-40 hours of work per week paid by employer
*          2 days of work-readiness training and coaching before the internship and on-going training while employed (provided by Right Track)
*          Supervisor orientation and resources
*          On-going support from program staff for both interns and employers
*          Interns are matched to positions by Right Track based on job description and desired intern skills

If you are interested in hosting an intern, please submit a request for a Student Worker, Clerical position through the internal apps system including:
*          a brief request memo describing the need to fill an intern position
*          an org chart showing where the position will reside and report to
*          a position description

Upon final approval in internal apps, please contact me at katie.xiong at state.mn.us<mailto:katie.xiong at state.mn.us> by Friday, April 16, 2021, with the number of student workers you are approved  to host along with the job description(s).  As DEED's intern pipeline coordinator this year, I will partner with Right Track to secure interns who have skills, abilities and career interests that match position descriptions.
