Job Summary
This position leads and sets the strategic direction for the statewide Affirmative Action (AA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title I - Employment and Title II -Public Services, and veterans hiring programs used by executive branch state agencies and serves as the State ADA Coordinator.  This position prepares, revises, implements, and administers the statewide Affirmative Action program as provided in Minnesota Statutes section 43A.19.

The position provides leadership, training, consultation and technical advice to state agencies in AA, EEO, ADA, veterans hiring programs; provides technical guidance to assist state agencies to comply with applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations for AA/EO/ADA; promotes diversity and inclusion in the state workforce by providing leadership on equal opportunity, affirmative action, and ADA; provides leadership for the development and administration of the Connect 700 on-the-job-training program and statewide internship programs; and develops and promotes diversity hiring sources for state agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a large organization working in the areas of diversity hiring, including experience with the ADA.
*       A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field may substitute for one year of experience.
*       An advanced degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, Law, or related field may substitute for two years of experience.
Two years of experience supervising staff and leading a team Excellent communication skills and written work product Ability to work collaboratively with diverse colleagues, job applicants and stakeholder Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace

Preferred Qualifications
Experience presenting training in the areas of AA/EO/ADA and making presentations to groups of various sizes Experience working in an advisory or consultative role in the areas of AA/EO/ADA Experience advising employers on providing reasonable accommodation under the ADA Knowledge of human resources best practices Experience with workplace inclusion and equity programs and strategies Professional level experience in a government and/or unionized work environment
