The Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis is looking for a Human Resource Technician to assist on their Staffing and Transactions team. The incumbent in this position will provide advanced para-professional human resources (HR) assistance to the professional HR staff and managers, supervisors, and employees at the Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis.

This position exists to coordinate the development and implementation of the MDVA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program which consists of: Diversity and Inclusion training, Agency Equity Change Team Chair, Employee Resource Group Coordinator and recruitment and retention of diverse staff. This position will also serve as the Alternate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Liaison for the Governor's Office. This will create a workplace environment in which the MDVA is an employer of choice and the workforce reflects the diversity of Minnesota citizens. The incumbent works in collaboration with the agency's Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Human Resources staff, managers and supervisors to develop, direct and manage the agency's Diversity and Inclusion programs and initiatives to promote a diverse workforce that reflects the demographics of the citizens of Minnesota; and, that meets the business needs of the agency. Emphasis is placed on recruitment, retention, training and awareness initiatives that create and foster an open and inclusive environment. Serves as the agency champion for diversity and inclusion by providing expert advice, consultation and training that enhances the mission of the MDVA and promotes diversity within MDVA. Serves as the alternate Agency Affirmative Action Officer and Agency Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator. The incumbent has access to labor relations information as defined by Minn. Stat.13.37; participates in meetings where MDVA and state labor negotiations proposals are discussed and evaluated; provides data and information to labor negotiations as it relates to recruitment, selection, retention and diversity issues.
