Good afternoon:

The National Federation of the Blind of New York State is seeking candidates
for the position of NEWSLINE Office Operations Manager

This is a part-time remote position with flexible hours.

This announcement replaces and supersedes the announcement posted on March 9,
2022. However, any applications received in response to that announcement
will be treated as having been posted in response to this announcement and
will be considered.

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the work of the
NFBNY-NEWSLINE team by conducting the tasks outlined in the Scope of
Contract.

This is a position requiring a high level of competency with the use of
computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and use of
online electronic   scheduling, filing and document management systems.
Prior experience with office management and basic bookkeeping is highly
desirable. The position also requires a high level of organization,
initiative, and discretion.

In addition to the position-specific skills, required to fulfill the tasks
outlined in the Scope of Contract, the successful candidate should possess
the following:

Ability and willingness to independently arrange for and travel on behalf of
the NEWSLINE Program.

Ability and commitment to present a positive image of blind people and the
National Federation of the Blind.

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

Ability to assist in the development, editing and production of presentation
materials and program information such as newsletters and handouts.

Ability to interact effectively with Newsline subscribers and the public.

Ability to develop, organize and manage required documentation, including the
ability to effectively collect and manage information before, during and
after presentations, to follow up and promptly submit the required
documentation; and,

To prepare and submit claims and reports to relevant authorities, including
donors and grantors.

NEWSLINE Office Operations Manager

 

SCOPE OF CONTRACT

The NEWSLINE Office Operations Manager will:

Assist the NEWSLINE Director with preparing all reports, including, the
annual report for approval at the Annual State Convention by the Affiliate
Board of Directors.

Working with the Newsline Technical Coordinator, develop periodic
recommendations for improving and maintaining NFBNY-NEWSLINE’s electronic
document, scheduling, and communications systems.

File all documentation submitted by or for Newsline.

Maintain all program records including bills, invoices, receipts,
correspondence, and all other business records in an orderly and accessible
electronic form.

 Assure that on-site and off-site backups of all records are maintained and
kept current.

Maintain spreadsheet of new and existing subscribers’ contact and log in
information.

Manage all program related correspondence and assure that such correspondence
is logged, timely distributed, and acted upon as directed by the NEWSLINE
Program Director and/or the Affiliate President.

Answer incoming calls and emails, and help process submitted applications
from potential subscribers.

Assist with arranging for travel and accommodations of NEWSLINE Outreach
Coordinators and track areas of the State targeted by NEWSLINE Outreach
Coordinators within the month.

Assist in the development, editing and production of presentation materials
and program information such as newsletters and handouts.

Receive, review, and file receipts submitted by NEWSLINE Outreach
Coordinators and other team members for reimbursement and forward same to the
Newsline Director for approval.

Prepare and submit all required grant and/or contract paperwork related to
the NEWSLINE Program including documentation, processing, and completion of
claims due and/or owing.

Perform other duties as assigned by the NEWSLINE Director or Affiliate
President.
