The nationally renowned Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis has an opening for a Human Resources (HR) Specialist 1 for our 53-acre campus, which is nestled on the edge of Minnehaha Creek Park near the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

As a member of our team, this position will provide professional and technical HR services including job analysis and classification, recruitment and selection, and compensation.  In addition, this position will also process some personnel transactions, coordinate and process retirements, provide front desk back-up, and assist in various special projects.

This position exists to provide coordination and business process-best practices for agency-wide learning management systems and training initiatives. The incumbent will also collaborate on internal agency projects. Integral to this role is the responsibility to analyze internal Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) learner data, trends and provide evaluation data and reporting on agency strategic goals. The position will identify opportunities to develop communications strategies, best practices for virtual learning, and further drive learner engagement and compliance with required trainings. This includes management of design and preparation of training courses (classroom and on-line), coordinating specific training programs, providing instruction to staff, scheduling instructors, with information on training activities and policies, maintaining training records, and delivering specific training courses.
