As the Director of Labor Relations you will contribute to the advancement of Department of Human Services (DHS) mission, vision, and objectives by establishing and managing Labor Relations functions, employee relations, and strategic initiatives by directing all labor relations activities for the agency of approximately 7,000 employees.

The Director of Labor Relations acts as the chief DHS spokesperson on DHS supplemental agreements and by independently handling other DHS labor relations matters.

In this position you will:
*         Provide leadership and overall direction in the areas of labor relations and unemployment compensation.
*         Administer collective bargaining agreements, supplemental agreements, memoranda of understanding and agreement, settlements and releases, and grievances within DHS.
*         Manage the negotiations of collective bargaining agreements, supplemental agreements and memoranda of understanding with exclusive representatives of employees on behalf of DHS so that DHS interests are served and protected.
*         Supervise teams whose primary function is labor and employee relations and perform other responsibilities as a DHS Manager.
*         Participate fully as a member of the HR Office Leadership Team.
*         Consult with and advise managers and supervisors on organizational design and development issues that have contract administration or bargaining implications.
