This position will provide professional human resources consultation to managers, supervisors, and employees of the Minnesota State Lottery. This position will provide services including recruitment, selection, job classification, compensation, training, labor relations, investigations, contract administration and interpretation, and guidance on policies and procedures. This position functions as the agency workers compensation coordinator and assists with safety, affirmative action, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), SEMA4 transaction management and reporting, employee orientation, benefits administration, and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Minimum Qualifications
* Two years of professional human resources staffing experience (e.g., Human Resources Specialist 1) with a focus in job evaluation/classification, recruitment/selection activities including developing and /or applying assessment criteria such as minimum and preferred qualifications, and providing analysis for compensation decisions; OR
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and one year of professional human resources staffing experience as described above.

* Experience using an applicant tracking system such as Recruiting Solutions.
* Knowledge of federal and state employment and labor law (e.g., ADA, EEO/AA, FMLA, FLSA, MN Data Practices Act).
* Analysis and critical thinking skills sufficient to evaluate and document information.
* Human relations skills sufficient to interact professionally with managers, supervisors, employees, applicants, and the general public.
* Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.
