This position will provide professional human resources functions to managers, supervisors, and employees of the MN State Lottery. Services include recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, contract administration and interpretation, and guidance on policies and procedures. This position will also provide back-up with SEMA4 transaction management and reporting, employee orientation, benefits administration, and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) support and carries out special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  *   Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field; OR
  *   One year of professional human resources experience that includes experience in job evaluation/classification, recruitment, and/or assessment/selection; OR
  *   Two years of technical human resources experience (e.g., Human Resources Technician 2) that includes experience in job evaluation/classification, recruitment, and/or assessment/selection.

All applicants who meet one of the above qualifications will be further evaluated on the following:

  *   Experience using an applicant tracking system such as Recruiting Solutions.
  *   Knowledge of federal and state employment and labor law (e.g., EEO/AA, FMLA, FLSA, MN Data Practices Act).
  *   Analysis and critical thinking skills sufficient to evaluate and document information.
  *   Human relations skills sufficient to interact professionally with managers, supervisors, employees, applicants, and the general public.
  *   Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.
