Job Summary
This position exists to provide operational and technical services to customers, volunteers, and employees of State Services for the Blind (SSB). Responsibilities
include installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment (e.g., studio and recording equipment, digital book playback equipment, braille
e-readers, and conference room meeting equipment). This position will also need to maintain equipment inventory and train others on usage and upkeep of
the equipment. This position will also perform digital duplication.
The overall purpose and mission of this position is to facilitate the achievement of vocational and personal independence of persons of all ages who are
blind, deafblind, or visually impaired.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
To receive credit for your education and experience, your resume should clearly describe how you meet each minimum and/or preferred qualification listed,
including dates of employment.
Experience in:

* Applying standard practices and procedures used in the repair, installation, and maintenance of electronic equipment.
* Operating electronic tools, testing, and measuring devices sufficient to perform electronic equipment repairs and maintenance and to calibrate equipment.
* Using networking equipment related to Data, Voice, and Video conferencing.
* Identifying and classifying electronic repair supplies and maintaining stock records.
* Using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Teams, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint and other conferencing software such as Zoom and Webex.

Ability to lead the work of other technicians in the provision of repair and maintenance of electronic equipment to meet training and work direction needs,
to ensure safety, provide timely service, and identify problems.
Customer service skills that include empathy and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a two (2) year vocational/technical program in Electronics Technology.
Possess a certification recognized by the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) which demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience with broadcast and
recording studio design, techniques, and operations.
Experience with Information Technology (IT) networking hardware and software.
Experience with technical aides, adaptation, assistive technology devices, and applications which provide services to individuals who are blind or physically
disabled.
Knowledge of and the ability to repair portable playback equipment and consumer-oriented type electronic devices.

This position requires an Adjustment to Blindness immersion training program. The immersion experience helps new employees understand what's possible for
people who are blind, DeafBlind, or visually impaired by allowing them to experience it for themselves. The training takes place at an Adjustment to Blindness
training center and can run up to 6-7 weeks.
