State Services for the Blind has two open positions for qualified individuals seeking an excellent job with the State of Minnesota. Vocational Rehabilitation Technician
Our Youth Services team empowers youth who are blind, DeafBlind, or have low vision to reach their goals of working and living independently in their community. This position assists the team with fiscal authorizations and invoicing, administrative support, and providing customer service to youth, their families, and other partners on their support team.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  *   Providing Statewide Integrated Financial Tools System (SWIFT) support for counselors as a buyer through Authority for Local Purchase (ALP) certification.
  *   Communicating independently with vendors related to service implementation and provision, especially on the fiscal side.
  *   Providing support to Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and youth counselors by acting as a program liaison to assist with the referral, application, and intake process.
Providing direct and indirect services to youth who are looking for work-based learning experiences, need career exploration, or are exploring post-secondary/career training.

Volunteer Coordinator, Audio Services
This position ensures timely completion of customer audio transcription orders by coordinating and monitoring volunteer readers and assignments. Some of the responsibilities include: administering oral reading tests, coordinating and monitoring recording assignments and recording activities of volunteers, keeping detailed and accurate records of volunteer recording production and progress of transcription orders, ensuring timely completion of customer orders, researching and keeping up to date volunteer resources, recording selected print materials into audio, troubleshooting recording assignment and equipment issues, working closely with engineering and the accessible media coordinator, and working closely with the audio quality coordinator to enhance the volunteer recording training, experience and skill-building.
