The IRS is hiring Revenue Officers and we’re hosting a VIRTUAL hiring event for our entry-to-mid career level Revenue Officer positions in the Boise, Idaho area.

During the event, you'll learn about the day-to-day job duties, requirements needed to qualify, how to write an effective federal resume, and all attendees will receive an exclusive announcement link to apply to for expedited consideration.

Registration/Application Steps

1. Click on the Reserve a spot link to register and receive the MS Teams meeting link.

2. Attend virtual event on August 28th. Learn about the position’s duties and requirements to qualify. Following our presentation, we will provide all attendees with an exclusive job announcement link to apply to and receive consideration. You must attend this event to continue this process.

3. Apply to the Exclusive Boise, Idaho-only Revenue Officer Announcement. Apply to the announcement by 11:59 PM ET Monday, September 9 using the link that will be provided to all attendees during the event. This is a required step.
Once we have received your resume, we will pre-qualify you for the highest grade possible based on the experience and/or education listed on your resume. If qualified, you will be sent a link to schedule a virtual interview the following week. If selected following your interview, we will send a tentative job offer within a few days following the interview. All that apply to the exclusive announcement link will receive a notice of results.

Note: Failure to provide sufficient evidence of your experience in your resume may result in a "not qualified" or lower-graded determination.

About the Revenue Officer position:

As a Revenue Officer, some of your duties include collecting delinquent tax and secures delinquent returns from taxpayers who have not resolved their obligations in response to prior correspondence or other contact. Providing customer service by respecting and explaining the taxpayer's rights, IRS policies and procedures. Providing instructions, and analyzing issues presented by taxpayers, practitioners and IRS employees. Performing credit and financial analysis of the taxpayer financial records to determine the taxpayer's financial condition and ability to pay outstanding tax obligations and prevent future delinquencies. Performing financial investigations in situations in which taxpayers are unwilling to be forthcoming concerning assets and sources of income. Planning and taking appropriate enforcement actions to secure an assessment on past due returns, such as summonsing tax records, referrals to examination or assessing taxes using IRC 6020(b), or prompt, quick and jeopardy assessments. This is a field position and travel maybe required to County Offices and to your assigned Taxpayer locations.

All Revenue Officer candidates must meet the following basic requirement. You must have:

· Specialized experience (examples can be found in the announcement under “qualifications,” or
· One academic year of graduate education in a related field of study, or
· Bachelor’s or higher degree in any field, but with specific requirements for GPA (as listed in the announcement), or
· A combination of experience and education.
