This position exists to lead, direct, and perform Human Resource (HR) strategic, tactical, and technical work by ensuring Perpich is an employer of choice, with a welcoming, inclusive, respectful, and collaborative culture. As a strategic partner, this position will develop and execute strategies that improve talent management including diversity, retention, workforce management, and succession planning. The HR Director will also provide agency wide human resources management leadership to managers and supervisor by managing the staffing and transactions functions, so the candidate and employee experience is positive, and the important work of the agency is completed by productive and engaged employees.

Responsibilities include:

Serving as the HR leader in recruitment, selection, staffing, classification, job analysis, and/or position allocation.

Working with staff and supervisors to interpret and apply federal employment laws, Minnesota state laws, collective bargaining agreements, personnel policies, or HR procedures.

Analyzing and interpreting labor relations or employee relations matters, including contract administration, discipline, grievances, investigations, or labor-management consultation.

Possessing communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to advise managers, present HR information, and address sensitive workplace issues.

The position will be expected to obtain and maintain delegation of authority for classification, selection, compensation, and SEMA4 transactions.
