[KeyStoneChapter] October 12, 2024 Chapter Meeting

hi everyone!
 Our next Keystone Chapter meeting will be this Saturday, October 12,2024, and held using a hybrid model, with an in-person and a virtual option. The meeting will begin at 10:15 a.m. Please see below for the directions to the Penn Museum and the Zoom link for the meeting.

Some things to keep in mind:

  1.  We are still collecting braille books, print books, and unwanted canes for students at a school for the deaf and blind in Ghana, Africa. If you have any of these items and would like to donate, please bring them to the October chapter meeting.



  1.  T-Shirts are here !!! If you ordered a shirt, it will be waiting for you at this Saturday’s meeting.



  1.  Auction items needed. We are putting together two auction baskets to be used at our upcoming state convention. The first is an accessible games basket. We are looking for donations of accessible board games, accessible cards, or family friendly toys. The second basket is a basket full of gift cards to national stores or restaurants. If you would like to help by donating or would like to solicit a local store for these types of products, please let me know. I have a letter you can use to ask for donations from local merchants.



  1.  We are collecting dues for 2025 now. The dues for membership is $10.00. You may pay by cash, paypal, or by paper check.
  2.  If paying by cash, just bring it to the meeting.
  3.  If paying by Paypal, go to this link: 2025 Keystone Chapter Dues<http://nfbp.org/>
  4.  If paying by paper check, please make it out to "Keystone Chapter, NFB of PA" and either bring it to the meeting or mail it to our treasurer David Goldstein at 1425 Parklane Road, Swarthmore, PA 19081.

Note that all dues for 2025 must be received by December 31st, 2024.

Come and learn, share, connect, and help in our movement to make our communities a more equitable place for blind people. If you have never been to a Keystone Chapter meeting before, or haven't been here in a while, it's never too late to start or to reconnect. We are so excited to see everyone there!

Travel to the Penn Museum via SEPTA
Our new meeting location is the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, otherwise known as the Penn Museum. The museum is located at 3260 South Street in Philadelphia. It is accessible by SEPTA. The Penn Medicine Station is directly across the street from the museum and the following regional rail lines stop there, Airport Line, Manayunk/Norristown Line, Media/Elwyn Line, Warminster Line, West Trenton Line, and Wilmington/Newark Line. The following bus routes stop within a few blocks of the museum, 30, 40, 42, and 49. The following trolley lines stop near the museum, 11, 13, 34, and 36. The Market-Frankford line is also an option.
