Hey there, Keystone Chapter Members and Friends,

It was a beautiful day for our October meeting at the Penn Museum on Saturday! We enjoyed donuts from Dunkin. We listened to  Presidential Release #54 <https://nfb.org/sites/nfb.org/files/08-2024/presidential_release_october_2024_chapter_version_final.mp3>2 which was in a new format and shorter than previous versions. 

After the meeting, we made our way over to New Deck Tavern for lunch.

2025 Membership Dues

We are collecting 2025 Keystone Chapter dues. They are due before December 31, 2024. Membership dues are $10. The chapter gets $5, and the NFB of PA receives $5 for your membership. There are a few ways you can pay. You can give me cash or a check when you see me. 2024 State Convention

Our State Convention is in Erie from November 7 through November 10. As of this writing, there are still a few seats left on the charter bus to and from Erie. Time is running out to make your hotel reservations for our block of rooms. Cost is $109 per night plus tax. Please make your reservations by October 18 (yes, tomorrow!) State Convention Baskets

The Keystone Chapter will be contributing two baskets for the auction at this year’s State Convention in Erie. One of the baskets will be a Family Fun basket filled with games, toys and the like. We’ve already got a Blind Barbie <https://amzn.to/3WKqTKU>, Braille Uno <https://amzn.to/3X3evXs>, Large Print Scrabble, and Large Print Playing Cards. Here are some other items that would be a good fit: Braille Hot Wheels <https://amzn.to/3WL8RIb>, , Tactile Cube Puzzle <https://amzn.to/46LKzTc> (like Rubik’s Cube,) and Blindfolded Twister <https://amzn.to/4crWLcZ>. There are also many accessible games in the App Store, so an Apple Gift Card is another good choice. Please let us know when you get anything for the basket so that we don’t have duplicates.

The second basket is a basket full of gift cards. We haven’t named it the Inflation Buster Basket yet, though. If you would like to contribute to this basket, the best way is to go to SupportKeystoneChapter.org <http://supportkeystonechapter.org/> and make a donation. I will then take those funds and purchase additional gift cards. So far we have gift cards from Home Depot, Bath and Body Works, Williams-Sonoma, and Gap. The total value of this basket is $200.
