Hey there PA Federationists,

The National Federation of the Blind of Pennsylvania (NFB of PA) invites 
blind and low vision college students to apply for its scholarship 
program--eligibility includes legal blindness, college enrollment, and 
attendance at the November State Convention. Upcoming events include 
virtual and in-person chapter meetings, plus fundraisers like a 
cash-prize raffle and Panera gift card sales. Episode 141 of _White 
Canes Connect_ features JP Williams, a blind life coach and former hit 
songwriter. Also, save the date for the NFB of PA State Convention, 
November 13-16 in Harrisburg.

After the meeting, the chapter will hold its annual picnic. This year's 
venue will be Cira Green, a park 12 stories above the Schuylkill River. 
You can bring your food or purchase it at the concession stand in the 
park.

In episode 141 of _White Canes Connect_, hosts Lisa Bryant and David 
Goldstein speak with JP Williams, a blind mental health and life coach 
based in Nashville. Originally a successful country 
songwriter--co-writing the hit "Best Shot" by Jimmie Allen--JP shares 
how he transitioned from the music industry into coaching. After decades 
in music, a career pivot during the pandemic led him to become certified 
through the International Coach Federation and begin work with Lyra 
Health, coaching employees from Fortune 500 companies on issues ranging 
from career transitions and relationships to parenting and goal setting.
