[KeyStoneChapter] Keystone Chapter Meeting REecap & Links

Hey there, Keystone Chapter Members and Friends,

It was a very chilly day on Saturday for our February Keystone Chapter 
meeting! The members  in-person at the Penn Museum enjoyed an elevated 
version of Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats freshly made by Eliz. She 
was testing the recipe and I think it passed with flying colors! We 
listened to Presidential Release #546 [1] from President Mark Riccobono. 
He spoke about Washington Seminar -- more on that below.

After the meeting seven of us walked a few blocks to Landmark Americana 
for lunch.

2025 Washington Seminar

Simon Bonenfant and I gave a recap of the event from earlier in the 
week. We talked about the Washington Seminar Agenda. We also recounted 
our time we each got to speak one-on-one with our new Senator Dave 
McCormick.

Affiliate Update

NFB of PA President Lynn Heitz gave an update on what is coming up in 
the affiliate. She spoke about the upcoming State Leadership Seminar 
happening on March 19 & 20. It is free, but you must register [2]. Lynn 
also gave an overview of our upcoming National Convention in New Orleans 
July 8-13 [3]. Lynn also mentioned our State Convention coming to 
Harrisburg from November 13-16.

Other Links We Spoke About at the Meeting

First-time attendees to National Convention, which will be in New 
Orleans July 8-13, can apply for a Jernigan Scholarship [4].

There are also National Scholarships [5] available to blind college 
students. They are awarded at National Convention each year.

Ghana Book Donation

We have completed the book collection stage and are now preparing the 
books for shipment to Ghana. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this 
project, with special thanks going to our member Kosi Asabere for her 
work on this project.

Our next meeting is March 8 at 10:15 AM. I will be out of town for this 
meeting, so if someone else could pick-up the donuts, I would appreciate 
it (as would the folks who enjoy the donuts during the meeting.)
