Hello all,

I know this is last minute but if you can attend this to help the children
in their community service project. Their director contacted me during the
weekend to see if some of us are available to get a tour of the walking
trail in Cobbs Creek. Please see the below forwarded email and please let
me know if you plan on attending so they are made aware and have proper
head count. You do not have to be a GPC member to attend but please let me
know if you can attend. For those who serve the blind community, please
share this with your networks. You can contact me at 215-776-6741 via call
or text.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Stacie

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.

Good morning President Stacie Leap,

It was a pleasure meeting you via phone on Friday as well. We look forward
to offering the members of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National
Federation of the Blind of Pennsylvania a trail tour and sensory in-park
experience on this Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

I will be working with a different environmental science group on Wednesday
and will not be able to greet you. However the Program Assistant, Ms.
Phyllis Dumond and Two Certified Teachers Mr. Kevin Little and Ms.
DeGracia-Redhair will host the Trail Tour with the Cobbs Creek Junior
Docents. I have included them in this email as well as a member
ACHIEVEability (our sponsor) and the Environmental Center's Director.

The tour will start at 10:30 AM beyond the parking lot, in the field, at
The Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Education Center, 700 S. Cobbs
Creek Parkway (Down the hill from 63rd and Catherine Street), Philadelphia,
PA 19143. We will be outside ready to receive your members at 10:15 AM to
make sure that they feel safe and welcomed. The tour and talk should end
around 11:45 AM for a 12 Noon pick up. A contact name and number for the
day is Ms. Phyllis Dumond: (267) 366-9235.

We would also like to know if the students are able to take tour photos to
document their community service. Please let me know if you have any other
questions, suggestions, or concerns. We are hoping that the rain holds off
and are planning for back up activities but umbrellas are advised.

Best,

Mrs. Vanessa Wimberly, M.Ed.
