*Monday, December 19, 2022:

 

10:00 AM Monday Movie Matinee with Gina Russo!

Featuring the 1954 Holiday Musical “White Christmas” with Audio Description.

Singers Bob Wallace (Bing Crosby) and Phil Davis (Danny Kaye) join sister act Betty (Rosemary Clooney) and Judy Haynes (Vera-Ellen) to perform a Christmas show in rural Vermont. There, they run into Gen. Waverly (Dean Jagger), the boys' commander in World War II, who, they learn, is having financial difficulties; his quaint country inn is failing. So what's the foursome to do but plan a yuletide miracle: a fun-filled musical extravaganza that's sure to put Waverly and his business in the black!

2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Special Perkins Library Holiday Concert with Jason Castonguay!

Perkins Library Cordially Invites You to A Special Holiday Concert!

featuring pianist Jason Castonguay. 

A long-established concert pianist and vocalist, Castonguay earned degrees in Classical and Jazz Performance and Computer Technology from Central Connecticut State University in 2003. Recently, he has been studying and performing on the harp. He was the first winner of the “Connecticut Idol” title to perform in Las Vegas for American Idol, and has been a special guest symphony orchestra performer for several years. 

Jason can also be heard on his weekly 2-hour live internet radio show, ArtFelt, on ACB Media.

NO Registration is required.

 

6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Special Holiday Movie Week Day Two with Gina Russo!

Featuring the 2022 Family Holiday film “Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey” with Audio Description.

Decades after his apprentice betrays him, a once joyful toymaker finds new hope when his bright young granddaughter appears on his doorstep.

*Wednesday , December 21, 2022:

 

1:00 PM  to 2:30 PM Special Holiday Program with Erin Fragola!

The PBS Great Performances Christmas special of Andrea Bocelli's first-ever Holiday album, My Christmas, produced by multiple Grammy Award winner David Foster. 

The concert was filmed, on September 15, 2009, at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. Featuring Bocelli and Foster with additional guests including Natalie Cole, Mary J. Blige, Reba McEntire, Katherine Jenkins, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and The Muppets.

Please note, Trivia with Erin Fragola has been cancelled and will return to its usual time on Friday.

 

6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Special Holiday Movie Week Day Three with Gina Russo!

Featuring the 1947 Holiday Favorite “A Miracle on 34th Street” with Audio Description.

In this Christmas classic, an old man going by the name of Kris Kringle (Edmund Gwenn) fills in for an intoxicated Santa in Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day parade. Kringle proves to be such a hit that he is soon appearing regularly at the chain's main store in midtown Manhattan. When Kringle surprises customers and employees alike by claiming that he really is Santa Claus, it leads to a court case to determine his mental health and, more importantly, his authenticity.

Featuring the 2021 TV Special “The Secrets of Christmas Revealed”.

This fun documentary-style faux investigation reveals a massive data breach in the North Pole that resulted in the release of millions of secret documents revealing the inner-workings of Santa's entire Christmas operation.

 

6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Special Holiday Movie Week Day Four with Gina Russo!

Featuring the 1946 Holiday Classic  “It’s A Wonderful Life” with Audio Description.

After George Bailey (James Stewart) wishes he had never been born, an angel (Henry Travers) is sent to earth to make George's wish come true. George starts to realize how many lives he has changed and impacted, and how they would be different if he was never there.

Featuring the 1983 Holiday Favorite “A Christmas Story” with Audio description.

Based on the humorous writings of author Jean Shepherd, this beloved holiday movie follows the wintry exploits of youngster Ralphie Parker (Peter Billingsley), who spends most of his time dodging a bully (Zack Ward) and dreaming of his ideal Christmas gift, a "Red Ryder air rifle." Frequently at odds with his cranky dad (Darren McGavin) but comforted by his doting mother (Melinda Dillon), Ralphie struggles to make it to Christmas Day with his glasses and his hopes intact.

Featuring the 2022 Holiday film “A Christmas Story Christmas” with Audio Description.

The family comedy "A Christmas Story Christmas" is the long-awaited follow-up to annual holiday favorite, "A Christmas Story." This time, Ralphie is all grown up and must deal with Christmas and all that comes with it... as a dad. Peter Billingsley returns to the role that has made kids of all ages anticipate Christmas morning like no other.
