Hi, folks,

What I've been told, expanded upon, by the police department contact is that the protest starts at 3 pm (I'd been told it was to take place at the same time as the meeting), and that there will be public comment to overlap with the City Council meeting, which starts at 5:30pm They believe the crowd and expression from the crowd will continue past when the NFB meeting starts. Letting you know I got a call from the contact at the Cambridge Police department. He has let me know there is a planned protest in response to the shooting death of a young man by police in Cambridgeport last week. The protest will be in front of City Hall, across from the Senior Center, but here is the upshot:

The Police Sergeant has cancelled the Cadet accompaniment for tonight for the safety of the Cadets.

The Police Sergeant has asked NFB to cancel its in person meeting tonight in order to protect everyone walking through the Square tonight. 

I've conveyed this request to both Shara and Justin, and I've told the police that it's up to the Chapter president. 

If you do go through Central Square at the time of the protest, you might be wish to walk on the Senior Center side of Massachusetts Avenue.

This whole situation is horrendous and has understandably caused a major response from the public. 

Hoping for everyone's safety.

Wishing everyone well, regardless of your or the corporate decision about the meeting tonight.
