Good Evening NFB Family,

I hope you are all doing spectacularly and getting to enjoy this beautiful
weather. The next couple of months are very busy for us. There are some
important details that you may not have gotten or heard in your September
chapter meetings. Please read all of the below information for some events
and updates.

First of all, I am so excited to let all of you know, that a few months ago,
a sighted artist, living in Sandwich, requested my help in reading and
identifying poems in Braille. These poems were written by poets such as
Robert Frost, Emily Dickenson and others. I met with him and read and
identified four volumes of classic poetry.

He explained that he was actually planning to use these Brailed poems in his
art. Recently, he contacted me to inform me that his art has been accepted
and will be in an art show at the Cahoon Museum of American Art in
Barnstable, Massachusetts. The name of the exhibit is Book Arts:
Conversations in Art and Words
<https://cahoonmuseum.org/book-arts-conversations-in-art-and-words/> . His
artwork isn't the only artist that is in this exhibit.

He has invited a few friends and me to a private showing and dinner. I am
hoping "friends" will include some of you. Sadly, it cannot be every one of
us.

Unfortunately, space is limited. Is anyone interested in attending this
event with me, as special guests to this artist on October 23 on the cape?
If you are interested, please let me know with a text, call or private
email. Please do not reply to this message here on the list. Send me the
information privately.

In other news, the Presidential Releases will now come in two ways, the
first to be sent to us by the beginning of each month and it will be only
about 15 minutes long. This release should be played at each chapter
meeting. President Riccobono will continue to hold live releases and the
next one will be held in San Francisco with the people who are attending
the Ride Share Rally.

This leads to the next item which is about the Ride Share Rally. Are there
any of you planning to attend this on October 15 in San Francisco? If so, I
would like to know. Please send me a quick text or email letting me know.
The more of you who attend the more Massachusetts can be represented there.
We would love to have a great turn out of our own residents but a
magnificent turnout of blind people from all over the country would be
incredible!

Our David Ticchi Walk is coming up on October 6 in Cambridge. It is a
beautiful place! We always have a great time making new friends, seeing old
ones, getting exercise and sharing fellowship. This year, as always we will
have home-baked goodies in which you can enjoy with a small donation to
the NFB. We also encourage everyone to bring your own lunch and blanket, so
that we can enjoy a fun picnic together. I sent out a letter that you can
disseminate in whichever way you choose to get sponsors and donations for
our annual walk. We urge each of you to try to get sponsorship or donations
totaling $500 each. But, every single dollar counts! we hope to see all of
you there!!

Let me know if you have any questions or if there is any way I can help you
with any of the above items.

With Love, hope and determination,

Shara Winton
