Hi Everyone,

Here are the March parent division notes.

March Parent Division Meeting Notes:

 

Call to order:

The in-person parent division meeting was called to order on March 27, 2026,
at 5:40 P.M. The people who were in attendance were Ellen Bartelt,
Bernadette Feeney, Youm Wen Ly, Hai Wen Ly, Stephanie Valdes, Katie Sevier,
Dana Lynn, and Jen Bows.

 

Dues:

Stephanie explained how dues are paid for the division. Dues are five
dollars if you belong to any of the Mass chapters. If you are not a chapter
member dues are ten dollars. People were given opportunities to pay their
dues.

 

Goals for upcoming year: 

There is a draft file shared with the members for this year's goals. Members
would like to work on outreach and gain new members. Members would like to
have IEP training to learn more about smart goals. Families would like
districts to be trained in how to communicate with families with blind
children. There was time for members to ask questions about their goals.

 

Elections: 

Stephanie discussed the elections process. She also explained the five roles
on the board and the duties of each position.

 

Election Results:

 

President: Stephanie Valdes

Vice-President: Hai Wen Ly

Secretary /Treasurer Ellen Bartelt

Board Member One: Dana Lyn

Board Member Two: Jen Bows

 

Secretary Report:

The February meeting notes were voted on and approved by the division
membership.

 

Treasury Report:

There is currently 190.25 dollars in the treasury. Eight people have paid
their division dues.

 

BELL Program:

Stephanie could not find a location for this year's BELL program. She is
already looking for a location to host the BELL program for 2027.

 

Meeting Ending:

The meeting ended at 6:50 P.M.
