Dear Cambridge Chapter Members and Friends,
Thank you to everyone who came out to tonight’s meeting and attended in person, especially considering the frightening incident that took place in Cambridge earlier today. It truly meant a great deal to see such wonderful support and participation. The meeting room was quite full, with 18 of us in attendance, including myself!
For those who joined us on Zoom, thank you as well for taking the time to participate in the meeting remotely.
A very special and heartfelt thank you also goes out to everyone who helped make tonight so meaningful for our member, Shannon Donahue. As many of you know, Shannon has endured a very serious illness, multiple surgeries, and a lengthy hospital stay, and we are so grateful that she is now doing well and continuing her recovery.
Tonight, we were honored to present Shannon with a Visa gift card made possible through the generosity of donations from several of our chapters, along with many personal contributions. My sincere gratitude goes out to every single person who played a part in making tonight special for her. Your kindness, compassion, and generosity truly reflect the spirit of our Federation family. A very special thank you to all of the chapters and individuals who contributed personal donations and support.
I would also like to gently remind everyone attending via Zoom to please remember to mute yourselves if you receive a phone call, have a television on, music playing, or other background noise. It can become very disruptive for those speaking as well as for those trying to listen and fully participate in the meeting. Your cooperation and consideration are very much appreciated.
I also want to apologize for the delayed start to tonight’s meeting and for the room not being open on time. Unfortunately, Cullen, who always does such a wonderful job keeping everything technically organized and running smoothly, was unable to attend this evening due to illness, which is certainly understandable. Sometimes unexpected situations arise, and tonight was one of those rare occasions. I appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and respect while we worked through things together.
Enjoy the rest of this beautiful month of May, and I look forward to seeing everyone again at our June meeting, which will be held on Monday, June 8.
Warmly,
Shirley Dorris
