MetroAccess Customers May Exchange Unopened Packages of Tokens, Unopened Packages of MetroAccess Fare Cards on Select Dates in February

Starting February 1, MetroAccess will no longer accept tokens and MetroAccess fare cards. In an effort to accommodate MetroAccess customers who have large quantities of tokens or MetroAccess fare cards, Metro will allow customers to exchange unopened packages of tokens and unopened packages of MetroAccess fare cards for EZ-Pay credit on Feb. 9, 10, 16 and 17 at the following locations:


*         Metro Center Sales Office located at 12th and F Streets, NW (inside the Metro Center station). Open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m



*         Metro Headquarters Sales Office located at 600 Fifth Street, NW. Open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Organizations should call Metro's bulk sales office at 202-962-5700 to arrange for refunds of unopened packages of tokens and unopened packages of MetroAccess fare cards. Metro will accommodate refund requests through March 31.

Social service agencies can use SmartBenefits(r) to load value onto individual MetroAccess customers' EZ-Pay accounts. This will enable agencies to pre-pay for their MetroAccess constituents and allows customers to board without having to handle any fare media.
