[Md-sligo] Chapter meeting and other news

The chapter meeting this week will be at the Whiteoak Library, 11701 New Hampshire Avenue.

Please let me know if you would like to go to the Possibilities Fair.  It will be at the National Center in Baltimore on Thursday, May 17.  

We will hold chapter elections next month.  Please pay your dues if you have not already done so.

Last month at the chapter meeting, Judy Rasmussen told us that the Lighthouse was working with MV Transportation to hire blind people.  If you need the phone number to call, contact me offlist and I will give you the phone number.  These jobs are working for MV directly, not through a Lighthouse contract.

For those of you on the group flight, the flight information has changed.  We will not have a direct flight because apparently US Airways is not doing direct flights to Dallas from Reagan.  We have scheduled flights so that we do not leave before daylight or come home after dark.  The price has not changed.

If you are going to convention and have not registered, you should do so or let me know if you need it done.  It isn't hard, but you need a credit card.  The registration fee is $25, the banquet ticket is $50, and the barbecue on Tuesday night, if you decide to go, is $40.  

If you would like to go on a tour at the convention, you must sign up by May 15.  The only one that is not on the Friday after convention is the Jersey Boys show, which will be on Saturday, June 30.  The cost is $100.

If you want to use Paratransit service in Dallas, you must sign up by June 7.  The number is 214-828-6717 or 214-515-7272 option 5.  If Sharon Reed has talked to you about it, she has probably already signed you up.  

I will have a pizza party and games night on Monday, May 28, at my apartment beginning at 4:00.  I have Scrabble, Uno, regular playing cards, and yahtzee dice.  You are welcome to bring any other games you like.  Please let me know if you would like to come.  I know some of you are having family events that day, but some of us have no family close by, so we can get together and have a party.  We had a board retreat last month, and one of the suggestions was to have more fun things to do together, so I am happy to hear anyone's ideas.
