I am glad to inform you that I am back in Freetown, Sierra Leone, safe and sound.
But before I ramble any further, please permit me to seize this opportunity to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to you for your wonderful hospitality and great generousity, first of all, for the unforgettable dinner to which you treated me last Tuesday evening, and secondly, for the donation of fifty white canes to the Sierra Leone Association of the Blind (SLAB).  The canes have already been shipped and I expect them here in three weeks.  When they get here I will formally present them to SLAB and you will get a report on that.  Thank you very much once again.

Anyone who wants to can joine me to take Fred Kamara out to dinner while he is in Maryland.  We are meeting at the Red Lobster, 8905 Annapolis Road, in Lanham, on Tuesday evening at 6:30.  Please let me know if you can come.  I will get there early to reserve seats for us, but I need to know how many to reserve.

We are going to send 20 canes along to Sierra Leone with Fred.
