Help Improve the SSI/SSDI Application Process!
Applying for disability benefits can be a daunting task, even for the most able-bodied individuals. Through my work in the local community, I have seen firsthand the effect that this process can have on a person, from confusion about forms to long wait times.
As part of a grant-funded research project through Policy Research, Inc. and the Social Security Administration, I will be holding a series of focus group sessions in Montgomery County to gain a better understanding of your perspective on the initial application forms. Each selected person will participate in two one-hour sessions between September and March. This research will give direct feedback to the Social Security Administration about what changes are desired by applicants and those assisting and advocating on their behalf.
Participants will be compensated with a $50 gift card at the end of the sessions and meals will be provided. This study is open to everyone in Montgomery County (whether you work or reside here). Please spread the word about this important research and help improve the SSI/SSDI application process!
