I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to Gabrielle's family and
friends.

Meanwhile, I would like you guys to know that I am here in the US for a
brief while.  I came over to attend the tenth Session of the Conference of
States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
which took place at the UN in New York from 13 to 15 June.  After the
conference I went down to Maryland for a few days.  I am currently in
Columbus OH but will be back in Maryland on Friday June 30.  I will be
leaving for Sierra Leone again on Thursday July 6.  I will probably not be
able to see any of you but I will try to reach some of you by phone.  I wish
you all a very successful national convention in July.

I am sorry to tell you that Gabrielle Rhoads lost her very long battle with
cancer on Thursday, June 22nd.  Gabrielle was an active member of the
parents division.  Our deepest sympathy to Kevin Rhoads and their sons,
Andrew and Jacob.  Andy attended our Glendale BELL program for several
years.  

The viewing will be on Friday, June 30th at Beall Funeral Home 6512 NW Crain
Hwy Bowie, MD 20715 from 2-4 and 6-8.

The funeral will on Saturday, July 1st at  11am at First Baptist Church of
Crofton  1690 Crofton Parkway, Crofton, MD 21114.

May she rest in peace.
