PUBLIC HEARING

The Montgomery County Council will hold public hearings on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. on the following Special Appropriation and Expedited Bills:

Special Appropriation to the County Government's FY18 Operating Budget, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) - $90,000 for implementation of a County Strategic Plan to Promote Prosperity and Increase Opportunity.

Expedited Bill 13-18, Taxicabs - Transportation Services Improvement Fund - Use of Fund, which would provide for disbursements from the Transportation Services Improvement Fund for any transportation purpose; and generally amend the law governing the licensing and regulation of taxicabs.

Expedited Bill 14-18, Economic Development - Strategic Plan to Promote Prosperity and Increase Opportunity, which would require the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to develop a Strategic Plan to Promote Prosperity and Increase Opportunity in Montgomery County, which must include certain area-specific plans; require DHHS to submit the first area-specific plan by a certain date; and generally amend County laws related to economic development.

The public hearings will be held in the Third Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building, which is located at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville. The meeting will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM) on Cable Channels 996 (high definition) and 6 (standard definition) on Comcast; Channels 1056 (HD) and 6 (SD) on RCN; and Channel 30 on Verizon. It also will be available live via streaming through the Council web site at http://tinyurl.com/z9982v8
