Here is the new KBA to address calls about the enhanced enforcement program by SWS:

Topic: Recycling Bin Contamination Enforcement

Public Answer: Due to the increasing amount of unacceptable items found in residents blue bins in the County provided recycling collection program, the Division of Solid Waste Services has undertaken an expanded education and enforcement outreach effort to improve the quality and viability of the residential curbside recycling program.  <p>

Solid Waste staff will tag bins containing unacceptable items and leave a flyer identifying the unacceptable material. Tagged bins will not be collected by the County contractor. Residents with tagged bins need to remove the unacceptable material for collection the next week.
