Dear Yasmin,

It was a pleasure meeting with your NCB group on Saturday. The first thing
I want to be sure to share is the application for the Same Day Access
application. You will remember that Same Day Access is the discounted taxi
program for Metro Access customers living in Montgomery County. The link to
the application is here, and also I attached it to this e-mail.

https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/DOT-Transit/Resources/Files/SDA%20Application%20Form.pdf

Speaking of links, here is one to the screen-reader-accessible tool that
can help people discover if there is an organization in their area that can
provide volunteer transportation:

https://gis.montgomerycountymd.gov/volunteerrides/

I mentioned that folks can call Connect-A-Ride for help completing
applications and for transportation information at 301-738-3252. I didn't
mention the online directory called the Transportation Network Directory
available at www.montgomerycountymd.gov/tnd

I do want to encourage people to participate in re-imagining the public
fixed-route bus system, which is free to people with disabilities at all
times (Well, Ride On is free and Metrobus is free to Metro Access users as
well.) Here is some information about that:

*MCDOT Continues Ride On Reimagined Efforts*

The Ride On Reimagined Study
<https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/DOT-Transit/reimagined/> is a
comprehensive, forward-looking assessment of Montgomery County’s
transportation network. This current study is taking an in-depth look at
the County’s existing and planned transit systems, including Metrobus and
the Purple Line. Through data analysis and community engagement, the study
will provide recommendations for system-wide bus service changes, including
Ride On and Metrobus routes operating in Montgomery County, to address the
current and future needs of the community.
The Ride On reimagine team is currently conducting community focus groups
throughout the County and is encouraging community feedback via the website
here
<https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/dot-transit/reimagined/feedback.html>.

And here are a few other things:

   - On Thanksgiving, Ride On, Metrobus and Metrorail will be operating on
a Sunday schedule and Metro Access is closed. There will be no RideOn extra
   or Flex service.
   - By next month, Metrorail wait times should decrease significantly.
   - The Silver Line is open, which connects customers to six new stations
including Washington Dulles International Airport, Reston, Herndon adn
   Eastern Loudoun County.

This time of year tends to see an increase in pedestrian accidents because
days are shorter and drivers cannot see well. Please remember to wear
reflective clothing and/or wear or carry a flashlight of sorts so drivers
can avoid you!

Wheaton Streetery Community Meeting to be Held on Monday, Dec. 6 An
in-person community meeting will be held at 3 p.m. outdoors at the Wheaton
Streetery. Attendees should meet at the corner of Price and Elkin Street
<https://www.google.com/maps/place/Elkin+St+%26+Price+Ave,+Wheaton-Glenmont,+MD+20902/@39.0404853,-77.051026,17.26z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x89b7cf1b5ea86963:0xef1a4ae7ba0cabaf!8m2!3d39.0403!4d-77.0503369>.
The Mid-County Regional Services Center and MCDOT are hosting the meeting
to gather community feedback on the Wheaton Streetery for possible
short-term changes.
