Duties


As an IT Specialist (Accessibility), PT-2210-3, your typical work
assignments may include the following:

*	Establish and maintain a baseline of assistive technology inventory
including software (such as software licenses), hardware (such as ergonomic
keyboards and mice, CCTV's, special purpose monitors), insuring that ISTS
has enough on hand to meet customer demand.
*	Provide appropriate and relevant technical guidance in the use,
purpose, and requirements of hardware and software technologies that address
a wide-range of reasonable accommodations needs for agency employees.
*	Provide subject matter expertise on accessibility for various IT
projects throughout the various stages of the project management life cycle.
*	Design and conduct broad comprehensive studies and reviews of the
latest trends in information technology, assistive technology and is able to
understand, explain and articulate their impact on one another.
*	Perform systems analysis and evaluation to assure technical
compatibility of proposed new services and associated equipment with
existing systems in order to maintain a secure and cohesive infrastructure.
*	Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to address
specialized or unique information technology requirements for GAO customers.
Develop processes and procedures for new situations that fall outside the
customary SOPs.
*	Provide technical guidance, instruction, and direction to contractor
staff regarding the use, configuration, deployment and troubleshooting of
assistive technology.
*	Ensure that end-users receive responses to technical inquires
regarding IT hardware, software, and technical configurations in a
reasonable amount of time.
*	Coordinate with the Agency's Reasonable Accommodations Coordinator,
ISTS support personnel and the ISTS hardware and logistics management staff
to oversee the performance and maintenance, as well as the distribution,
provisioning and disposition of assistive technology software and hardware.
*	Represent ISTS as the Accessibility Subject Matter Expert in inter
and intra agency wide initiatives related to accessibility and reasonable
accommodations.

Qualifications


You may qualify for the IT Specialist (Accessibility), PT-2210-III Band
Level if you fulfill the following qualifications requirements:

You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four
competencies listed below:

1.	Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and
conscientious about attending to detail.
2.	Customer Service - Works with clients and to assess their needs,
provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their
expectations; knows about available products and services dealing with
accommodations and services.
3.	Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or
facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the
audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive,
controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to
others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4.	Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and
relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate
alternatives, and to make recommendations.

AND

Specialized Experience: The PT-3 position require one year (52 weeks) of
specialized experience at the next lower band/grade PT-2/GS-13 level (or
equivalent) in the Federal Service, or comparable private/public sector.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with
the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully
perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the
work of the position to be filled. Such experience must be IT related and is
typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where
the primary concern is IT. Specialized experience is defined as experience
developing, and delivering IT hardware, software solutions, and assisting in
the development of policies that meet requirements for assistive
technologies, accessibility, and reasonable accommodations; and serving as
an SME on IT assertive technology and providing guidance on section 508 and
ISO/IEC 40500:2012.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work
done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and
other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious;
spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical
competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and
experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive
credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
