Meet Nile, the 40-foot Inflatable Humpback Whale!
Join me and see how fascinating humpback whales can be!
Meet Nile, the Humpback Whale, on Saturday, August 13th.
Come learn about these fascinating creatures as you join Cynde from the
WhaleMobile <https://thewhalemobile.com/>.

Program Details:
When you come to this event for your 30-minute time slot, you will go
inside Nile to learn how whales and humans are both similar and different.
There will also be artifacts that you can touch like baleen, teeth, and
bones.
Date:  Saturday, August 13, 2022
Time:  10:00 a.m. - 2 p.m. * Please register for a time slot for your visit.

This event will be held at:
National Federation of the Blind
200 East Wells Street at Jernigan Place
Baltimore, Maryland 21230

Important Information to Consider Before Attending:

   - Participants must preregister.
   - Children do not need to be accompanied by an adult to go inside the
   whale as part of the program; however, the adults must remain close at the
   program.
   - No youth under the age of 17 will be allowed to attend without a
   parent/guardian.
   - There will be no more than 20 participants at a time for each time
   slot.
   - The program is intended for children ages 5 years old and older.
   - Wearing a mask will be required.

Transcribing the Sky!

The first image from the James Webb Space Telescope was released to the
world on July 11th.  What does this image show?  What is the science behind
it? Josh Urban returns to LBPD to host a conversation with youth ages 7- 17
years about the James Webb Space Telescope’s most recent observations.
Share your perspective on the best way to communicate the telescope’s
findings to the blind and low-vision communities. Should the pictures be
converted to sound? Should they produce 3D printed graphics? Your thoughts
are important to us. Part one of this two-part event is on July 27th at
3:00 PM, with the follow-up session occurring on August 16th.

The Oceans of Possibilities Audiojack Youth Event (Youth ages 9-17)

Engage with others as you let your imagination do the work!  Be sure to

Oceans of Possibilities Reading Ceremony at the Maryland State Fair
Saturday, August 27, 2:00 pm at the Cow Palace (main grandstand)
