Hello Summer Readers,

Take a Bite… It’s Shark Week!

Our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Program is in full swing.   For the
month of July, we are going deep by exploring the depths of the ocean.
Not only that, but starting July 24th the Discovery channel starts its
Shark Week.  Oh, boy!

Read below about what’s happening in the library and how you can win an 18
oz. Yeti Insulated Rambler Water Bottle.

July and August’s Take and Make Activities

We send the activity.  You complete it and earn 2 entries for raffle
prizes!

[July]  Water Bottle Sea Creatures Design Challenge

Create a sea creature using a recyclable plastic bottle.   Summer readers,
you can use any of the various art/ craft supplies mailed to you or use
recyclable materials found around your home to make your creature.


Take a picture of your creature and send it to kidsdesk.lbpd at maryland.gov

In the subject line, write "Water Bottle Sea Creature".  Attach your
picture to the email. Be sure to include your name within the message of
the email.

Once your picture is received, a confirmation email will be sent to you
with a list of the raffle drawings you are eligible to enter.  Then you can
select where you wish to place your two earned entries.  You can place them
all in one raffle or select two separate raffles.

[August] Battle with Poseidon

Use corks to build a simple toy boat and battle it out with your own Sea of
Monsters.  All materials will be provided and mailed to the reader. To
receive all the items, register for the Oceans of Possibilities Summer
