[Mdpobc] Announcing GLIDE Program for High School Students

Hello all,

Through a partnership with the Office of Blindness and Vision Services at DORS, the Youth Services department at Blind Industries and Services of Maryland presents the GLIDE program for blind high school students. Gaining Leadership, Independence, Direction, and Experience (GLIDE) will prepare students for life after high school through four, hands-on workshops.  Students may choose to come to one, two, three, or all four workshops occurring between January and April 2016.

The GLIDE Program will enable students to:

*                    Gain independent living skills

*                    Improve communication skills

*                    Learn about resources and technologies

*                    Learn from professionals (both blind and sighted)

*                    Get to know blind/low vision youth across the state of Maryland
