Description: In this module, I will discuss how iPads may be used to support beginning switch users; the equipment needed, the apps and the roadmaps to step-scanning as an access method.
Lydia Schnitta Lydia is a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant and a member of the comprehensive Assistive Technology team at the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education. Her role is to provide support to IEP teams in fourteen school districts who are challenged with implementing Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) with students. Lydia also helps students to better access their educational environment by adapting equipment to meet their individual needs. She is working towards her Teacher of the Visually Impaired Master's Degree at San Francisco State University and recently honored with the title "Classified Employee of the Year 2019" for the five SELPAs that make up the San Diego County Office of Education.
