Using BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) with Your Students

Description: BARD is a free library service of recorded and braille books and magazines for residents of the United States and to American citizens abroad who are unable to read or use standard printed material because of visual or physical disabilities. BARD is provided by the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS), Library of Congress. Join us as we share how to register, download, and use this service. Join Jerry Price, the Accessible Technology Education Program Coordinator, and LaShawn Myles, Youth Librarian, from the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. Mr. Price, teaches one-on-one training classes for blind and low vision patrons, as well as manages the Technology User Group, which explores the accessibility features of emerging technologies. Ms. Myles has over 20 years working with youth and currently manages programs and services for patrons age birth to 21. Please join us, as we show you how to DOWNLOAD!
