The MIABS Mosaic Vol. 9.1
September 7TH, 2026

Message from president Jeffery Crouch
Greetings all and welcome to the month of September. I hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day. The air is filled with the smells of grilled food, the sounds of laughter, and relaxation.
We hope everyone takes it easy and is ready to go back to the grind starting tomorrow.
This month is our MIABS Multi-Media Mind-Melt virtual trivia game. If you are not signed up, this is a great way to come and get to know other federationists, make memories and get a chance to get your convention registration, banquet ticket and if you place in first or second place, a cash stipend. It's open to anyone in Michigan. Check out all the details below and to register.
If you have any feedback or would like to see something in the Mosaic, please feel free to email me at miabs-president at outlook.com

Announcement Regarding the Vice Presidency
I would like to thank Kashonia Graham for her service to the MIABS division as Vice President. As many of you know Kashonia is an extremely hardworking and busy woman. We were very fortunate to have her step in to the position back in February. With all of the amazing hats that she wears, she always wants to make sure that she is giving her all to what ever she does or takes on. Kashonia gave her all to this division and brought dignity, integrity and an unshakable determination to the office of Vice President. We are grateful for the time that you were able to give us and understand that you have a lot of great things you are doing for the blind of Michigan. After much consideration, Kashonia stepped down from this position and we can't express how much you brought to our division and appreciate the work you have done and continue to do.
After a lot of thought, I came to the determination of who I would be appointing to serve the remainder of the term of Vice President. I am proud to announce that Oguzcan Saygili will be serving as the Vice President effective September 5TH 2026 until the term ends in November 2027. Oguzcan, thank you for your willingness to step in to this position. We know that you will bring a lot to the office and we can't wait to see your continued growth within our division.

Inconclusion
Thank you for reading this weeks Mosaic. Please Join Secretary Steven Crouch for all things communication related next Sunday.
Let's go build the federation!

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination, and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.

Sincerely,
Jeffery Crouch
President: Michigan Association of Blind Students
