Starting a new band is difficult, but very rewarding. I'm happy for you.
Keep practicing and make sure you don't starting gigging until everyone's 
ready. Have fun and don't worry if the sound is not there yet. It'll come as 
you all get together and learn to communicate with eachother on-stage 
(without speaking).
I can't wait to hear some of those 50s tunes when you record them!
