Hello.
I am hoping there is someone on this list who may be able to point me in the
right direction.
I would like to start teaching piano lessons, and although I have had some
formal training on the piano, I am not ready to teach anyone else. I am
able to play a lot of songs by ear but there are some gray areas that I
would like to get cleared up.
I was taught by a woman who taught piano and organ in her home and she was
blind. This was a blessing because I learned to read music in Braille.
Although I can still remember a majority of the codes for Braille music, I
am willing to go through those lessons again if it becomes necessary.
What I need to know is this: are there any ohnline classes accessible to
the blind that will enable me to become a teacher or is that too far out of
the box? I realize that there are several types of software on the market
that makes learning and/or teaching somewhat easier. Since I am an avid
Braille reader, I think it would be very beneficial to me to have those
tools available to me.
When I learn to play a gospel song or praise and worship songs I try to make
sure that what I play is as close to what I hear but sometimes that isn't
enough. So if anyone can help, please feel free to respond to this message.
Thank you.
