Hello, NFB music list! I would like to tell all of you musicians about a great opportunity.
It has been around since 2001 (an early version has existed since 2000), and I recommend you
all check it out. Its name is Song Fight! Song Fight is a song-writing competition that happens
almost every week. (Usually, it's ten days, or twelve; it depends on how busy the organizers
are). Also notice I avoided calling it a composition competition. When most people hear composition
competition, they think sheet music. Not Song Fight! With Song Fight, you make an audio
recording! On the site, there are instructions on what to name your file, what to put in the subject of
your email, and what to put in the body of your email. Song Fight gives you a title. Let's
say the title (or, as I like to call it, the theme) is "Commitment and Sacrifice" (because, at the time
of this writing, up until April 4, that is the title). You write a song based on that title, and
record it, in studio if possible. You get the mp3 of your song, email the mp3 to the given
email address with the subject, body, and attached-file name they want you to use, and then send it. A
day or two after the deadline, a list of artists who entered shows up on the Song Fight site. Fans
click on one of the artist's names, and listen to the song that was entered. A fan listens to all of the songs,
clicks the check boxes on the best ones, and clicks Vote. The artist with the most votes wins the
song-fight. And whether you win or not, you're song will be on the next album in the Song Fight Music
Archive. Also be aware that if you enter a song, you will get publicity in Song Fight Review. It
may be positive, it may be negative. Most comments that may seem insulting turn out to really be
constructive criticism, so read it carefully.. It's a cycle. There's always A, B and C.
Let's say album A just came out in the Music Archive. People are still voting on album B, and people
are submitting songs for album C. Shortly after album C is done being recorded, it becomes
B, and the old B becomes A. And it cycles that way, even if there is a day when album C is
done being recorded, and it hasn't moved to B yet, replacing the old B, which becomes A. It
just means the organizers are busy. Here's the link, which is living proof that we're not playing a joke.
