[musictlk] help with music

I'm in band.  I know what a major scale is, as my teacher has us 
warm up with a concert b-flat major scale, but it's different for 
every instrument.

Don't go by what you thought.  You're wrong, and I'm trying to 
help
you to understand.  C, d, e, f, g, a, b, and c are the letter 
names of
the notes.  Obviously, you don't know what a major scale is, 
regarding
half steps and whole steps.  Look at the white keys on the piano; 
then
play from c to c.  That's a major scale.  Note where there are no 
keys
between, hence the half steps.

Obviously, you're confused.  Every key on the piano is a half 
step.  E
to F-sharp is a whole step.  B-flat to C is a whole step.  There 
is a
key on the piano skipped in both cases.

Hi Marissa,

The clarinet pitch is a whole step higher than the piano.  B-flat 
on
the piano is C on the clarinet.  E natural on the piano will be
F-sharp on the clarinet.

I don't know the answers to your other questions.
