I can answer that one for you. Having a masters degree in vocal performance, 
I can tell you that warming up is different than singing a song. If you have 
studied voice with a good technician, you won't have as much of a problem 
with this.

Yeah exactly.  That's how I feel Timothy.  I almost ended up
singing tenor on one of our pieces because the alto part was too
high, but my teacher at the time told me I was psyching myself
out about it and tI could sing the notes just fine, but that was
in warn-up.  And if I'm correct, singing a note during a warm-up
is very different than singing it in an actual song.  Am I
correct?
