"Visually-impaired musicians' lives": Conference 2015



Dear Friends and Colleagues,



The "Visually-impaired musicians' lives" (VIML) conference will be taking place in London on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 March 2015. We are delighted by the interest that has already been shown.



The conference will take place over 2 days:

Wednesday 11 March 2015



Programme: The conference will comprise speakers on various areas of visual impairment and music from across the world, in addition to musical performances by visually-impaired musicians. This is set to be a very exciting event and we hope that you are interested in attending as a delegate, speaker or performing musician.



Registration: To register for the event please visit the Eventbrite website. Places are very limited and there will be a waiting list:

Location: The conference will be taking place at the Institute of Education, University of London<http://www.ioe.ac.uk/>. The university is the world's leading centre for education and applied social science and is located in central London.



Accommodation: There is a wide range of accommodation adjacent to the Institute of Education for different budgets

Cost: Free: There will be no cost for the event but please ensure that you register for the event


Performers and speakers: If you are interested in performing, speaking or contributing to the conference please can you indicate on the registration page and we will be accepting abstracts up until the 1 December 2014.
Presenters will need to complete and return an abstract proposal form, which can be downloaded from http://vimusicians.ioe.ac.uk/confer_training.html by 1 December 2014.
Performers will be required to register their interest by contacting Robert Mitchell in the first instance (r.mitchell at ioe.ac.uk<mailto:r.mitchell at ioe.ac.uk>) and to send a brief sample recording to us by post at “Visually-impaired musicians’ lives”, Room 628A, Department of Culture, Communication and Media, Institute of Education, University of London, 20 Bedford Way, London WC1H 0AL. We will need to receive this by 1 December 2014.
