[musictlk] voice lessons

Hello everyone,
I can't help feeling that we've wandered away from Music, again!
Anyway, I'd like to throw something else into the disclose or not
disclose debate. I, personally, feel it's bad grace to just arrive at
a job interview and confront your potential employer with your
disability. If you're going to disclose your disability at all, use it
from the word go.

People will only judge it as a negative if you leave the door open for
them to do so. If I'm writing a cover letter for a job, (I don't
recommend sliding it into a CV), I use it to explain some of the
skills I have because I know that, if I had sight, I wouldn't even
need some techniques to be as strong as they are. Think of how you
sell your skills, qualifications and achievements and view your
disability through the same lens.

Very best wishes,
Sandra.
