Hi Anne, Good question. Yes, I use a music stand for performance. Although, I've never had a choir solo, so I don't know on that end of it. I don't think I could even read from the music without a stand as I always had one in some capacity, even in college. So yes, you could have a music stand. Thank you, Kelsey Nicolay
