I personally wouldn't do it. Since Apple has stopped supporting iOS 6, most apps are no longer compatible with that version. So you're likely not going to be able to run most of the apps you'll want, including blindness apps and music software. Were I you I would try to find a good deal on either a 5th generation iPod Touch or one of the iPhone 5's. By the way, I have a friend who is selling his iPhone 5S. Let me know off-list if you're  interested.
