[nabentre] For customers or business builders

Hello Jordan:

I am very sorry that you did not achieve success in your MLM and/or network marketing business. However, as you have a business degree, you are also well aware of the high failure rate for those individuals who start a "traditional business model". I have been involved in both models.

Consider how the Obamacare dictates as well as many other governmental policies have impacted traditional model businesses.

Bottom line, having a business of any type is tough. Most small businesses fail but the reward of potential success and freedom make it worthwhile for those who succeed.

Good luck with your new business.

          Bob Clark

I agree with this last statement totally. I was in one for about 6 months
before a policy change forced my business to close. I didn't have the
resources to spend on purchasing items and making samples etc. How my
sponsor is doing it I have no idea, and she does not have a degree in
business like I have. I am working on starting a business from basically
the ground up now, and I will be posting more on that later.

I have to say, that I have some experience in the MLM industry. This can be
a paradox of the industry. Often, you are "trained" to tell people to "look
at the facts." You are often berated by senior team members when you or
others display any behavior that is questioning the company, it's products,
and earning potential. He could be responding based on training he
received.
MLM can go either way for the individual. As a blind person, it was hard
telling the difference since people "sounded" interested in the products;
however, I never had the advantage of seeing the real facial expressions of
disinterest, or, "it is one of those." I found that often, I was giving
away samples, paying auto-ship, and seeing little to no ROI.
However, my experience is different than anyone reading this. You really
need todo your diligent research. That involves adopting a "believe" in
your products, the companies "system" of winning.
Moreover, unless you have a "in" with someone in the company, you will find
that you are excluded.  You may never see the recruiter who got you in;
they, were in-front of that hotel room or church basement to have people
sign-up only. Finally, when you hear constantly how "company X" has made "X
amount" in sales, or is on track to "make X" amount next year, be careful.
That can imply the following. We at "company X", are hurting. We need
sign-ups, please help, remember to do auto-ship, etc. Often, when I was in
my last and only MLM, when people heard of team members struggling, the
leadership would keep reminding us to be positive. Although that sounds
good, they would start "story telling" of how the top people took years in
order to meat a set of goals.
Believe me, as blind people we are in a trap. These can look like ways out
since we appear to be in control and have a "leg up" on the employment
problem we face. However, you are really paying a small fee to start a real
business. This means that you need to prepare yourself to do all the things
you would if you were going to run a business. For that matter, you would
be better-off, getting your own products, supplies, and a loan for a real
physical or online store.
I wish you well, have a good evening.

because we need to listen to it, but if you can't bother getting people
hooked and have to send them off to a website that looks pretty much like
every other "You could make millions in one week" add, you're probably not
going to do all that great. Subsequently, if your first response is to
insult those who ask questions because most people are, for a good reason
skeptical of these sort of schemes, you're also headed down the wrong road.
