They can also do Medical Billing:

I am in the process of writing an article for the Braille Monitor it will
not probably be printed until after the convention from what Barbara Pierce
has told me, I have already writen one. Also like anything if anyone wants
to know about medical bill I will post here as well, been very busy with
over time. But this field has a lot of openings. Going to school depends
on the school and how will they are going to make sure that you get the
stuff you need.

I am a certified medical insurance specialist and this is something when
looking into school they also teach medical transcribing in this with with
the billing. Any good school in this field should be between 9 - 12 months
and don't be fooled by 2-3 month certification programs they only teach you
what is called Medical Manager which is the only student version of billing
programs out there, and this is a DOS program.

I got to learn it from help.

Another misconception about this field and I have heard it a lot that there
is a lot of paperwork involved. not correct. now if you work stictly in a
dr office that might be the majority but all dr offices must comply with the
government and become all electronic billing or they will pay fines to the
government.

You can work with Insurance companies, hospitals, medical laboratories,
medical collections, work in any business that needs medical insurance
understanding in Human Resources many different fields out there. Including
doing it at home, but that take a least a good knowledge of the field and
working in the field for 1-2 years before going out on your own.

Also when it says billing/coding. You will be taught what coding is and how
to read the codes. The coding system is also online and they also have the
coding ICD-9 books in electronics format. But working in a hospital as a
Coder or working stickly as a Medical Coder. You need a 4 year college
degree in Health Information Technology and then you need to take the AHIMA
(AMERICAN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION) certification test,
which is about $700. But again you can get buy and make money without this
in plenty of fields.

if anyone has questions. Please post.
